Yesterday Intel launched another contest in parallel programming and optimization: “Parallel Races: the ‘π’ formula.” The gist of the contest: develop a scalable implementation of a generator for the digits of π. You need to find as many digits after the decimal point as possible in 60 seconds.
The difference between this contest and Intel Threading Challenge 2009 is that there is only one task, and all comments may be written in Russian. The contest will run until June 5, 2009.
This, nevertheless, does not rule out taking part in both contests at once.
P.S. Also, I don’t understand why they launch contests right during exam season.
